Lessons From a 🌻

There’s something about a sunflower.

People are naturally drawn to their beauty, but if you slow down long enough, they have something even greater to offer.

A lesson.

They don’t strive to be something they’re not. They don’t bloom before their time. They simply grow, stretching toward the light, putting down deep roots, weathering the storms, and trusting the season they were given.

The more time we’ve spent among these fields, the more we’ve realized they have a way of teaching us, too.

It’s easy to focus on fear, disappointment, or uncertainty. But life changes when we choose to fix our eyes on what is good, true, and beautiful. There is hope to be found when we keep looking toward the Light.

The most beautiful blooms begin with roots no one can see.

Some of life’s quietest seasons can feel unproductive, but often they’re the very seasons preparing us for what comes next. Growth isn’t always visible, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.

Every sunflower faces wind and rain.

Yet somehow, they keep standing.

Not because life is easy, but because they’re rooted well.

The same is true for us. The storms we face don’t always mean we’re on the wrong path. Sometimes they’re strengthening us for the season ahead.

The sunflower never compares itself to the one beside it. It simply blooms when it’s ready.

What freedom there is in embracing the season we’re in instead of wishing for another.

A single sunflower holds hundreds of seeds, each with the potential to grow into something beautiful.

Our words, our encouragement, our compassion—they’re seeds too. We may never fully know the impact they have, but they matter.

And maybe our favorite lesson of all…

The world has enough hurry.

Enough heaviness.

Enough division.

May we be people who bring warmth, extend kindness, and remind others that beauty still exists.

That’s the heart behind Sun Haven Farm.

Yes, it’s a place of sunflowers. But more than that, we hope it’s a place where families slow down, friends reconnect, children run freely, and hearts are refreshed by the simple beauty of God’s creation.

As we prepare for our first season here, we’re reminded that the best things in life are rarely rushed. They grow one day at a time, nurtured by faith, patience, and grateful hearts.

Thank you for following along as this dream continues to unfold. Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or are just discovering our story, we’re so grateful you’re here.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the fields in fall 2027.

Until then, keep looking toward the Light, trust the season you’re in, and leave a little sunshine wherever you go. 🌻

With grateful hearts,

Johnny, Sarah, Anyah, Aubrey, and Axel
