Before the Bloom🌻

One day, these fields will be filled with sunflowers.

One day, families will gather here to make memories, find rest, and experience the peace found in God’s creation. Children will run through the blooms, laughter will echo across the fields, conversations will linger a little longer, and hearts will leave a little lighter than when they arrived.

That is the vision God has placed on our hearts for Sun Haven Farm.

But today…

Today doesn’t look like the finished picture.

It looks like dirt, long days, sore muscles, prayers whispered in the quiet, and faith that keeps showing up even when the canvas still seems mostly blank.

Our world loves finished masterpieces. We celebrate the overflowing harvest, the thriving business, the dream that finally became reality. Yet every masterpiece begins long before anyone else sees its beauty.

An artist first sees the vision before the paint ever touches the canvas.

A builder imagines the home before the foundation is poured.

A farmer believes in a harvest while holding nothing more than a handful of seeds.

Faith often begins with seeing what doesn’t yet exist.

Sometimes we become so focused on where we’re going that we forget to appreciate where God has us today.

Seeds spend time hidden beneath the soil before they ever break through the surface. During that unseen season, it may appear as though nothing is happening. But beneath the dirt, roots are stretching deeper, strength is forming, and life is quietly preparing for what is to come.

I think our lives often look much the same.

Maybe your dream still feels unfinished.

Maybe you’ve been praying for something you can’t yet see.

Maybe you’ve been faithfully planting seeds while wondering if they’ll ever grow.

Take heart.

Just because you can’t see the masterpiece yet doesn’t mean the Artist has stopped painting.

Some of God’s greatest work happens in the hidden places, where faith is being strengthened, character is being refined, and hope is taking root long before the harvest arrives.

That’s what we’re learning at Sun Haven Farm.

Every shovel of dirt.

Every weed pulled.

Every fence repaired.

Every prayer whispered.

Every small act of obedience is another brushstroke on a canvas that only God can fully see.

We don’t know exactly how this story will unfold, but we know the One who is writing it. So we’ll keep showing up. We’ll keep planting. We’ll keep trusting. And we’ll keep believing that in His perfect timing, these fields will bloom.

Thank you for being here at the very beginning.

Years from now, when these fields are overflowing with sunflowers and families fill this place with laughter, I hope you’ll be able to say, “I remember when it was only a dream.”

Because you’re not simply watching this journey unfold—you’ve become part of it.

Your prayers, your encouragement, your kind words, and your support remind us that we’re not building this dream alone.

One day, these fields will be filled with sunflowers.

But today…

We’re planting seeds.

And we’re trusting the One who makes them grow.

With grateful hearts,

Johnny, Sarah, Anyah, Aubrey, and Axel
