A New Season Begins🌻
Hi friends,
It’s been a while.
And if we’re honest, we didn’t know if we would ever write this email again.
What began years ago as Fish Sunflowers became something far bigger than we ever imagined. From 2020–2022, we planted sunflower fields across Minnesota with one purpose in mind: to create spaces where people could come to breathe, reflect, heal, connect, and experience beauty in the middle of life’s hardest and most meaningful moments.
Each field carried deep meaning, honoring stories of grief, cancer, Alzheimer’s, miscarriage, veterans, loss, hope, and healing. What started as planting flowers quickly became creating spaces for people to heal, reflect, and connect.
We met so many incredible people in those fields. We hugged you, cried with you, prayed with you, celebrated with you and carried your stories with us long after the season ended.
And somewhere along the way, those fields changed us too.
But after several intense years of pouring everything we had into the mission emotionally, physically, and financially, we realized we needed to step away for a season. We knew that if this vision was ever meant to continue, it would need stronger roots, a permanent home where it could grow sustainably and intentionally.
So we surrendered it.
And we waited.
Over the past few years, God has used that waiting season to reshape our hearts, our priorities, and our vision for the future. One verse continually stayed on our hearts:
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9 🌻
That verse became a reminder to keep trusting the process, keep planting seeds of goodness, and trust that in God’s timing, beauty would bloom again.
And little by little, the pieces began falling into place.
Today, we are incredibly humbled and grateful to finally share this with you:
Welcome to Sun Haven Farm 🌻
The permanent home of Fish Sunflowers.
This land represents so much more than a farm to us. It represents faith, healing, restoration, growth, and a new beginning. A place where families can gather, memories can be made, burdens can feel lighter, and people can experience the peace and beauty of God’s creation.
There is still so much work to be done as we prepare this land and dream about all that it will become, but we are excited to begin sowing seeds for future seasons and create a harvest of blessing for everyone who walks through these fields.
If you were part of this journey before, thank you for staying.
And if you’re new here, welcome.
We truly believe this is just the beginning.
With gratitude,
Johnny, Sarah, Anyah, Aubrey & Axel
